Easter was a time that I had to dress up scratchy uncomfortable dresses that were expensive and frilly. My father would hide eggs in the yard and enjoy watching us search for eggs, more than we enjoyed finding them. My mother has always said it is the most important holiday, because everyone is born (Christmas), but rising from the dead doesn’t happen everyday!
As my children came into the world, I enjoyed watching them find eggs and getting their baskets of goodies. I realize how much work goes into coloring eggs, and finding good hiding places. Most importantly, making a list of where you put the eggs, so you don’t come across them in the yard almost a year later when you step in the wrong place and get blasted with same chemicals used during wartime to flush out enemies.
It’s now great fun to provide hidden eggs to close friend’s homes with a note left by the Easter Bunny! Want to try it yourself? Sign up for our newsletter, a PDF will be attached that you can print and place in the yard. Adults love this, too!
